Raising a Non-Violent Child

John's newest book is now available through our bookstore. The problem of child violence is not limited to extreme outbreaks in Littleton, CO or Jonesboro, AR. It's an American problem. Over the last 30 years, the rate of violent crimes committed by children has more than tripled, and the age of "first offense" is getting younger all the time. Things that were "unheard of" 30 years ago--such as children hitting teachers and parents--are happening today with alarming frequency. It's time America took a sober look at this problem and the factors that feed it. In this provocative, sometimes disturbing talk, family psychologist and author John Rosemond examines those factors-including television and video games violence, the breakdown of the family, the "deconstruction"(as recently termed by a team of psychologist-researchers) of the American father, the waning of character education, and a culture that increasingly values the thrill of risk over substantial achievement-and offers a parenting plan for "violence-proofing" our children. The problem, says John, is not children, but a culture that has lost its sense of direction concerning its most precious resource. In this talk, John challenges parents and schools to renew their commitments to America's children and reassume control of a youth culture that is out of control. Not to be missed!

Quotes
times newspapersWhen we realized we needed to upgrade our Web site, we knew we could not do it alone. Linear Publishing more than answered the call. All the new features we were looking for were already in place at Linear. In addition, if we came up with a feature not yet available, they created it.

We now publish two Web sites a week in less time than it took us to publish one. The free time has opened me up to explore new ideas and features to use on our site. It's a great feeling when you can get an idea and in no time have it up and running online. Thanks to it's ease of use, our Web site is getting better and better every day.

We are always getting compliments from our readers and advertisers. With help from Linear Publishing, we are becoming the e-voice of the community that we were striving for.
