Editorial Sub Heads

November 06, 2005 | 02:50 PM

This feature will scan an editorial item looking for SubHeads and then insert the formatting code as defined here. Each editorial items can be configured to override these controls. Essentially, when looking for SubHeads, the system is looking for paragraphs less than 75 characters long - if found, the system will apply the SubHead format tags. Why 75 characters? Well 50 was too short and 100 was too long.

When working with SubHeads, you can manually declare a SubHead by putting at the beginning of a line. Alternatively, you can declare a line is not a SubHead by placing at the beginning of the line; otherwise, if the SubHead controls have been invoked, the system will search through the editorial item looking for opportunities to format SubHead information

smiley peteFor a small publishing company, with large amounts of content, wanting to make an impressive charge into cyberspace, without prior web-publishing experience, Linear Publishing delivered everything we needed, and even options we didn't know existed, in a quick and effective manner.

Linear's staff worked with us to make sure we had the site we wanted, and the software provided is easy and vast for continuous changes and improvements.

Within a month of launching, the results have already gone well beyond hopes and expectations. I recommend Linear Publishing as far as somebody is allowed to make a recommendation.
