Word Ads

June 05, 2012 | 07:53 AM

Added a new class of ads - Word ads. Similar to Google's word ads, these simple ads just have a title, body and link. Full CSS controls allow you to determine how the word ads are presented on your site.

These ads were developed as a response to the mobile environment. Essentially, your mobile site can include word ads at the top and/or bottom of every page - plus, the system can insert word ads after each "X" paragraph in editorial. Each standard ad on your web site (i.e. Banner ad, Box ad, etc.) can be configured with a "word ad equivalent" which can become part of the mobile environment.

Each page of your web site can show up to 50 words ads. Interestingly, the word ads can be displayed in up to 4 groups - each group independently situated in the right rails. If you use multiple groups for displaying word ads, the system will automatically divide the total words ads shown into the groups.

Word ads are enabled in your Site Ad Defaults. Once enabled, every other ad type will include controls a "word ad equivalent". Individual "word ad equivalents" can be designated to be included among the standard word ads on your web site. All Word ads and "word ad equivalents" are made available to the mobile environment.

times newspapersWhen we realized we needed to upgrade our Web site, we knew we could not do it alone. Linear Publishing more than answered the call. All the new features we were looking for were already in place at Linear. In addition, if we came up with a feature not yet available, they created it.

We now publish two Web sites a week in less time than it took us to publish one. The free time has opened me up to explore new ideas and features to use on our site. It's a great feeling when you can get an idea and in no time have it up and running online. Thanks to it's ease of use, our Web site is getting better and better every day.

We are always getting compliments from our readers and advertisers. With help from Linear Publishing, we are becoming the e-voice of the community that we were striving for.
