Directory Listings Group Map

April 16, 2012 | 08:42 AM

Added the ability to invoke a Group Map when viewing Directory listings. The corresponds to currently viewed listings. Here are some of the features:
  • Numbered/Icon Listings: Individual listings can include a number corresponding to the pin on the map. When the number is clicked, the map pin expands it's information. Alternatively, you can specify an icon rather than a number.

  • Upgrade Markers: Optionally, have upgraded markers appear with upgraded directory listings.

  • Map to Listing Hover Color: Hover over a map pin and the listing background color can change.

  • Street View: Optionally, include a "Street View" image with a map marker's information. The Street View image can be panned 360 degrees.

  • Map Legend: Optionally, invoke a legend beneath the map linking to the map markers. Click on a legend item and the map marker information expands.

  • Customization: The map/legend is totally customizable to meet the needs of your web site. CSS containers and styles are easily applied. You can even determine pin/marker colors on the map.
By default, the Group Map will appear in the upper right; however, the map can be placed further down in the right rail, but you'll need to call your Linear representative to change this feature.

The Group Map can be invoked site-wide through your Directory Defaults, or invoked on a per category basis. Click here for an on-site example.

corydonI've had a great experience with Linear Publishing. The system was easy to learn, and Greg and his staff are always available to answer any questions I may have.

Our readers are apparently liking the results, too, because our visits to the web site have tripled this year.
