QR Codes

February 26, 2011 | 04:40 PM

A QR Code is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.

Linear offers a QR Code builder for a variety of features.
  • Account Legend Link: Simply go to a particular account and activate the QR Code feature. Henceforth - or until the account's QR Code feature expires - all information related to the account (i.e. listings, coupons, calendar events, etc.) will include a link to view the Account's QR code image. Click here for an example of QR code embedded in legend links.
  • Directory Listing: QR codes can be enabled for all directory listings. Click here for an example of QR code with a directory listing.
  • Coupons: QR codes can be enabled for all coupons. Click here for an example of QR code with a coupon.
  • Calendar listings: QR codes can be enabled for all calendar listings. Click here for an example of QR code with a calendar listing.
  • Site Links: QR codes can be embedded anywhere within your site to offer a quick bookmark to whatever page is being viewed. This type is exampled atop our site on every page.

smiley pete"Linear publishing has provided a turnkey solution for Mile High Newspapers that far exceeds anything that we could have accomplished on our own. While the capabilities of the system are impressive, what I have found most useful is Linear's willingness to implement new features and its ability to support the ones it has. The Linear system has so many features, that one newspaper will never use them all. I have looked at other newspaper content management systems, but have yet to find one that matches Linear's price, tech support and feature set."
