Layer Menu

December 20, 2008 | 03:13 PM

We've added yet another navigation option to Linear - the Layered Menu.

Linear's traditional vertical and flag menus still rule, and the DHTML menus rock, but the Layered menu brings an alternative which may be perfect for some clients.

Essentially, the layered menu consists of a primary row of menu items where each menu items exposes an associated lower row of menu options when hovered or clicked.

The principal advantages of the Layered Menu are speed, simplicity and user-friendliness.

You probably would not use a Layered Menu in conjunction with Linear's other menu options. A well planned layered menu can probably host up to 100 navigation choices.

When used, the Layered Menu sits across the top of your site freeing up site width for additional content.

Quotes
smiley pete"Linear publishing has provided a turnkey solution for Mile High Newspapers that far exceeds anything that we could have accomplished on our own. While the capabilities of the system are impressive, what I have found most useful is Linear's willingness to implement new features and its ability to support the ones it has. The Linear system has so many features, that one newspaper will never use them all. I have looked at other newspaper content management systems, but have yet to find one that matches Linear's price, tech support and feature set."
