Site Contests

an easy interface to increase web traffic

When Linear was first conceived, we thought Web operators would host contests for businesses and organizations in the community. Hence, we built-in the feature to provide contests to clients. In this scenario, the contest is linked to the client's other information throughout the site. For more on this original feature, click here.

It appears we missed the need for the Linear client to host their own contests. Not anymore, now we offer Site Contests.

Essentially, the system will list all your active contests on a single page. Contest can be sorted by optional categories, by date or alphabetically. Key features include the ability to schedule individual contests to start and stop on specific dates, the ability to limit the maximum number of entries per contest and the ability to limit entries to one per person.

Unlike Account Contests, these Site Contests are completely managed by the site owner. Entries are not emailed, but rather stored in our database. At anytime, you can export the entries into a tab-delimited format.

Individual contests can be configured to collect name, phone, address, email information and more. Of course, a contest can be configured to only require a valid email address for entry.

Quotes
times newspapersWhen we realized we needed to upgrade our Web site, we knew we could not do it alone. Linear Publishing more than answered the call. All the new features we were looking for were already in place at Linear. In addition, if we came up with a feature not yet available, they created it.

We now publish two Web sites a week in less time than it took us to publish one. The free time has opened me up to explore new ideas and features to use on our site. It's a great feeling when you can get an idea and in no time have it up and running online. Thanks to it's ease of use, our Web site is getting better and better every day.

We are always getting compliments from our readers and advertisers. With help from Linear Publishing, we are becoming the e-voice of the community that we were striving for.
