Articles

Articles allow you to submit local news items - gossip, sports, reviews - whatever. If approved, these articles will appear on our Web site (sorted chronologically descending - most recent first). Web visitors can easily navigate to read just articles submitted by certain users.

You can define article categories (i.e. "News", "Sports", etc.) in which your Web community can submit text information. Depending on your Defaults and the settings for the submittee (see Users), the submitted article may either immediately appear on your Web site or be held pending your review and approval.

Similar to your Editorial system, Shoe Box articles can be configured to allow for an image to be included with the article. Unlike your Editorial system, the Shoe Box is designed to automatically resize any image to your predetermined settings - thus avoiding the guaranteed problem of submitted images being much to large for Internet display.

When the Web visitor accesses the Shoe Box articles, the system will always list the items in descending chronological order - the most recent items appear first. Each Shoe Box article will include a brief introduction with a link to view the entire article.

Your Linear Inclusions can easily be set to automatically create a "mini-list" of Shoe Box Articles based on date added, featured even the most read (see right example).

Quotes
smiley pete"Linear publishing has provided a turnkey solution for Mile High Newspapers that far exceeds anything that we could have accomplished on our own. While the capabilities of the system are impressive, what I have found most useful is Linear's willingness to implement new features and its ability to support the ones it has. The Linear system has so many features, that one newspaper will never use them all. I have looked at other newspaper content management systems, but have yet to find one that matches Linear's price, tech support and feature set."
