Classified advertisements are a huge source of income for the publishing community. The classified market took a huge hit with the development the first free classified database. The Free Classified market emerged in 1999 with Craig's List. Craig's List is local community classifieds and forums - a place to find jobs, housing, goods & services, social activities, a girlfriend or boyfriend, advice, community information, and just about anything else -- all for free, and in a relatively non-commercial environment. Craig's List has taken millions of dollars annually away from the publishers. The list made it easier and cheaper to advertise online without the newspapers. Craig's List was a huge hit and now has spread and contributed to the classified system Linear uses.

Linear has developed our on free classified system in order to compete with Craig's list and other free classified systems. We provide a variety of options for upgrades, publishing, and categories. By allowing your users to submit their own classified ad for free you allow them to contribute to your site and become part of the community, Their ads will attract more viewers and business for your site. The large database of ads will continue to expand and attract more people.

Although the ads will be free to post online, profit can still be made through the available upgrades and options. With each ad the user will be able to upgrade and select a visual, publish in the print publication, or highlight their ad.

Linear hopes to allow smaller newspaper companies the ability to compete with the larger companies by providing equal systems. We give you the ability to take the initiative and upgrade to the free classifieds system.

Unfortunately, Linear cannot example the standard Classified System (see Standard Classifieds) and the Free Classified model on the same site - it's either one or the other, but not both. So, for an example of the Free Classified system, call our office and we'll put you in touch with a Linear client employing this feature.

appen newspapersWe have worked with Greg now for about ten years. I expect we'll continue for another ten. When I need help on one of our sites I pick up the phone and call Greg. He fixes it. It is about that simple.
