Half Banner ads appear in the top and bottom of the right-hand rails. These ads are only available in Linear sites utilizing the double rail configuration on the right. As shown in this example, Half Banner ads "bridge" the right-hand rails.
Example: In this example (see the rectangle ads at the top and bottom of the right hand rails):
Top Ads: There are five Half Banner ads scheduled to appear top, but the page is configured to only show 3 top ads at a time - so the ads will rotate.
Bottom Ads: There are five Half Banner ads scheduled to appear bottom, but the page is configured to only show 2 bottom ads at a time - so the ads will rotate.
Typically, you'll have more ads than space available. The Linear system would allow you to show up to 20 Half Banner ads (top and bottom), but showing so many ads might detract from the design of your site.
Fixed Frequency: With Fixed Frequency an ad will absolutely appear according to the frequency - no more and no less.
Top Ads: The "Merry Maids" ad has been configured to appear each 2nd click.
Bottom Ads: The "Camper Cabins" ad has been configured to appear each 2nd click.
Rotation: All ads not assigned to a Fixed Frequency will rotate assuring that each ad is seen an equal number of times.
Weighting: The ads will not appear more frequently - rather the ad will receive preferred placement when shown.
Top ads: The "Electrician" ad has been given a weighting value of "1". It will always be placed atop the ads scheduled to appear.
Bottom ads: The "Mitchell's Travel Agency" ad has been given a weighting value of "1". It will always be placed atop the ads scheduled to appear.
Live Ad Rotation: While not employed by default, click here to re-visit the page employing "live rotation" for the half banner ads. Normal weighting and frequency rules will apply, but the scheduled ads will share a display area. The live rotation settings for half banner ads will switch the ads every 6 seconds. For more information, see Live Rotation.
