Located in Northern Indiana, the Corydon Democrat is a classic customer looking to have their existing production personnel repurpose the print product for the Internet.

The staff needed a solution which not only made the routine updating of the Web site easy, but one which allowed access and searchability of the growing archives. Editorial, obituaries, classifieds, scores and print ads all needed a companion solution on the Web site.

First Linear analysed their classified structure. Without a formal backend system, the Corydon Democrat could only upload the Quark file from the print publication. No problem, Linear designed a solution specific to their needs so the classifieds upload in less than one (1) minute per issue.

I've had a great experience with Linear Publishing. The system was easy to learn, and Greg and his staff are always available to answer any questions I may have.

Our readers are apparently liking the results, too, because our visits to the web site have tripled this year.

Linear's existing editorial engine offered the ideal solution for adding the editorial and obituaries to the Web site. After an hour of training, Corydon personnel were placing editorial, visuals and obituaries on the Web site like pros.

For sports scores and social announcements, we used Linear's editorial list feature. This essentially stores every sports score ever entered and displays the information in a descending chronological order - fully searchable.

Linear's built-in "Letters to the Editor" feature provided the ideal interface for adding, retreiving and displaying this important community feedback component. Again, shown in descending chronological order and fully searchable.

The Corydon Democrat certainly doesn't use every feature available through their Linear solution - they only use the features they want. As new needs arise, Linear will have the reident components to meet any challenge.

Quotes
smiley pete"Linear publishing has provided a turnkey solution for Mile High Newspapers that far exceeds anything that we could have accomplished on our own. While the capabilities of the system are impressive, what I have found most useful is Linear's willingness to implement new features and its ability to support the ones it has. The Linear system has so many features, that one newspaper will never use them all. I have looked at other newspaper content management systems, but have yet to find one that matches Linear's price, tech support and feature set."
