Process: You declare a Season like "2010-11 HS Mens Basketball". Then, you enter all the games scheduled for the season. As games are played, you simply enter the scores. That's It.

Results: Your Linear system will construct Ajax Sports Tables for display on your web site. The tables are totally dynamic. Click on a team to see their schedule. Click on a week and see all the games schedules. Click on "Standings" to see the Win/Loss position of all teams. Click on an optional Conference (i.e. "Mid Valley" or "Central" and you'll be viewing the schedules and results for that Conference.

Displaying on your web site: There are several techniques for including your Sports Tables on the Web site.
  • Site Page. Your Linear system includes a site page designated for displaying Sports Tables in a full-width mode. Each Season includes link code to display its results. If you have trouble with the Site Page, you may need to edit it's values to establish the initial file.

  • Inset. Each Sports Table can be called in a Sports Element. The created element can then be embedded in one or more of your layouts or within a standard inclusion.
Multiple Sports Tables can be shown on a single page - each totally dynamic in it's presentation. Different font styles are employed for both the inset and full-width versions of Sports Tables.

Tournaments
Also within our Sports Manager is the ability to post bracket tournaments to your website. Simply declare a tournament and select the teams playing in the tournament. As the tournament progresses, just click the Round to enter the results with any link to a story about the game. Because Tournament brackets are wide, they cannot be embedded within editorial, but linking to tournament results is a breeze.

Quotes
smiley pete"Linear publishing has provided a turnkey solution for Mile High Newspapers that far exceeds anything that we could have accomplished on our own. While the capabilities of the system are impressive, what I have found most useful is Linear's willingness to implement new features and its ability to support the ones it has. The Linear system has so many features, that one newspaper will never use them all. I have looked at other newspaper content management systems, but have yet to find one that matches Linear's price, tech support and feature set."
