Text Alerts

Managed similar to Newsletters, the Linear Text Alert feature is primarily an "opt-in" system where Web visitors can review your available text alerts, submit their mobile phone number to begin receiving selected alerts. As an "opt-in" system, recipients can "opt-out" of a text alert at any time.

With Text Alerts there is a simple two step process in preparing the system:

Create Text Alerts: You'll begin by defining your Text Alerts. Each Text Alerts is limited to about 130 characters. Text Alert content is always generated manually. To link to your site, consider creating a tinyurl (see www.tinyurl.com).

Send Text Alerts: On an as-needed basis, you'll want to send your Text Alerts. When breaking news occurs - or a short-term "sudden" coupon, just pull up the selected Text Alert and click the "Send" button. Its really easy.

Note: This page features a small right inset allowing users to sign-up for text alerts from this page. Simply enter the phone number and carrier, select one or more alerts and you are done. The system will send a verification alert confirming the request - but it's really easy. This inset/element is completely customizable (see On the fly sign up).

When new users sign up for the site, they'll see the available text alerts and newsletters listed for their selection. Once they have established an account, when they log in they can edit the text alert and newsletter preferences.

appen newspapersWe have worked with Greg now for about ten years. I expect we'll continue for another ten. When I need help on one of our sites I pick up the phone and call Greg. He fixes it. It is about that simple.
